Half time?!

Not yet! My husband is sure he will reach the age of 100... Let us cross the fingers! But meanwhile we celebrated his 45th birthday. One of my favorites birthday cards says:
"Do not think of it as another birthday. Think of it as the anniversary of the day the world was graced with your presence!"
I couldn't agree more!

European habit

One of the things I miss in the USA is walking through the city ( or town where you live) on Saturday afternoon, having a cup of coffee at at a street cafe, watching people and doing your grocery shopping at the local stores. No car needed.
But I made recently a discovery: I can do it here too! For example: in Montclair, New Jersey! There are a few interesting shops worth a visit (even a great bookstore!) and...wonderful cafes!! My favorite is a french one. We left our car at the parking lot and just walked everywhere... What a pleasure!
Did I mention we did it on Sunday? The day most of the places (and all stores) are closed in Germany...something I do not miss at all!!
Ps. Jakob loves the new frozen yogurt ice cream place in Montclair.
